Luigi Schiassi, 86 of Villa Park. Beloved son of the late Antonio and the late Annunziatina Schiassi, nee Santangelo; beloved husband of the late Geraldine Schiassi, nee Hancock; loving father of Nancy (Michael) Bingen, Helen (Michael) Knudtson, and Anthony (Nora) Schiassi; dear grandfather of Jeremy, Katie, Hayley, Sean, Matthew, Shannon, Annemarie, and Sabrina; dear brother of Eva (Dominic) Battistone and the late Maria (Bill) Romano; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and a cherished friend of many.

Luigi started his life in Pietrabbondante, province of Isernia, Molise, Italy. As a young 14-year-old, he made his way on a boat to Australia where he studied and became an electrician. In his early twenties, he finally was able to travel to Canada, where he continued in his profession as a skilled electrician. Then, in his late twenties, he came to America where he met his love, Geraldine, settled and began his family.

Luigi loved his home in Villa Park. He spent his days gardening. Many of his beautiful flowers were shared with the St. John the Apostle Church, where he was a faithful parishioner.

Very dear to his heart was Lake Summerset, where he had another home and his vineyard. He loved his grapes and making wine with his family. Family was always important to him; grandkids were always number one in his heart.
