Lucille “Lucy” G. Fischer died peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2019 in Bloomingdale, Illinois at the age of 88.

Lucy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Carl and Audrey Fischer of Sagamore Hills, Ohio, nieces Linda (Warren) Mohar of Baraboo, Wisconsin and Beth (Pat) Strocchia of Plainfield, Illinois, and nephews Mark Davis (fiancée Darlene Derengowski) and Thomas (Stacey) Fischer of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and several great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Gertrude Fischer, her sister Trudy Davis and her nephew Robert Fischer.

Lucille was born on March 24, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Gertrude (Reinhard) Fischer. She graduated from St. Alexander’s Elementary School in Villa Park and Immaculate Conception High School in Elmhurst. She lived at 146 N. Villa Ave. in Villa Park most of her life. Lucy was employed by Canadian Grand Trunk Railway as a customer service representative and daily rode the commuter train back and forth from Villa Park to Union Station in Chicago.

Lucy was a generous person who made a point of always remembering friends and loved ones with birthday and holiday cards. She was an active and dedicated lifelong member of St. Alexander parish and she loved to read, travel and go out to dinner.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. followed by memorial Mass at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 300 S. Cornell Ave, Villa Park, with a memorial luncheon to follow at Allegra Banquets, 237 W. St Charles Road, Villa Park. Father Rosenbaum will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lucy’s life. The family would like to thank the staff at Alden Valley Rehab in Bloomingdale for taking such good care of Lucy these past five years.
