David Nass

David T. Nass of Lombard, Illinois, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2019.  Dave was born on April 27, 1953 to Joseph and Verna Nass in Wolf Point, Montana.  He grew up in Poplar, Montana, located on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, where his family owned a dry goods store.  He graduated from Poplar High School and then from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota with degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. He then went on to graduate from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa with a Masters of Business Administration.  Soon after he worked for Andersen Consulting and later Accenture in Chicago, where he worked until his retirement.

 

Dave was actively involved in his beloved church, St. Paul Lutheran, in Villa Park Illinois and volunteered with various groups in his community including a local homeless shelter.  He had a wide range of interests, including music of all genres, and sang tenor in the church choir.  He was very mechanical and had the ability to fix anything, finding ample opportunity to do so as Property Commissioner at his church.  He was well known for his humor, candor, generous spirit, and leadership skills.

 

Dave is survived by his wife, Gay, of 43 years; his daughters Amy (Tony) Clavio, Laura (Jason) Semprini; his granddaughter Shalai Semprini; his brother Richard (Barbara) Nass and brother Greg (Cindy) Nass; his sister-in-law Marianne Nass; his mother-in-law Evalyne Clark; niece Stephanie Nass, nephews Tyler Nass and Blake Nass.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rodger Nass.

 

A memorial service celebrating Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Villa Park, 545 S. Ardmore Avenue, (630) 832-5580.  Beginning at 1:00 p.m. family will gather at the church to greet guests.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.  Arrangements by Steuerle Funeral Home, Villa Park, (630) 832-4161.
