Marylou Albright 81, of Treasure Island, Florida, formerly of Elmhurst, IL, beloved wife of the late Robert Luchetta, Charlie Larzelere and Jim Safford, loving mother of Corinda Luchetta, Colette (Eric) Luchetta–Stendel, dear grandmother of Bob, Joe and Pete Luchetta–Stendel, loving step grandmother of many, fond sister of the late Earl Jr. (Juanita), Donald (Mike), Jerry (Emale) Albright, Wilma Fern (George) Van Ewyk, Bonnie Lucille (John) Campbell, dear aunt of Sandy , Diane, Carol “Buzzy”, Barbara, Carol Ann, Dean, Brian, Dana and the late David.

An accomplished cook, baker and seamstress, Marylou was devoted to her daughters, Corinda and Colette and Colette’s family. In addition to her family in Illinois, when Marylou moved to Florida in 1981, she made new friends and they became a second family to her, and she to them. Adopted mother, aunt, grandmother and sister, Marylou was always generous with her time and her heart.

A real estate broker in both Illinois and Florida, Marylou retired from the City of Saint Petersburg in 1997. One of her lasting accomplishments in real estate was to manage the donation, purchase or condemnation of multiple parcels of waterfront and adjacent property in the southern end of downtown St. Pete, allowing the City to donate the land to form what is now the Saint Petersburg campus of the University of South Florida.

In addition to her family and work, Marylou’s other passion was military veterans’ causes. A “life member” of the women’s auxiliaries of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Post 39, the oldest post in the South) and the American Legion, Marylou was responsible for obtaining a new charter for the American Legion Auxiliary Post 158 in Treasure Island, where she also served as President for several years. She was a proud member of American Veterans (AMVETS) Ladies Auxiliary, and held an office there as well.

Marylou’s last party will begin on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Villa Park V.F.W. Post #2801, 39 E. St. Charles Road, Villa Park, IL. with a celebration of her life service at 5:00 p.m. For additional information 630-832-4161.
