Mary Ann Ruane
Mary Ann Ruane was born in Chicago, IL on February 13, 1945 and lived a very full life until her passing on April 2, 2011.
She was the second of four children to Michael and Elaine Ruane and sibling to Elaine (Albert) Meo, Margaret Ward and Michael Ruane. She grew up in Oak Park, IL but eventually settled in Villa Park in the late 1960’s.
Mary Ann always felt her greatest accomplishments in life were her three children: James (Rachel) Zaccardi, Vince “Chip” (De Anna) Zaccardi and Elania (Erik) Rovansek. Of course, when they were all married, she told people she now had six children and were so very proud of each one.
Her eight grandchildren loved and adored “Nana” with her fun games, great hugs and her ‘WOW’ kisses! These little “angels” are Jameson(11), Nathan(9), Mason(9), Evan(6), Bennett(almost 6), Aidan(2 1/2), Reagan(2) and Allyson(almost 2). Mary Ann was an Aunt and Great Aunt to many and was a friend to countless others. There is no way to guess all the wonderful friends for whom she was also known as “mom”.
Her life was a gift to all. She had a strong heart and mind – more often thinking of others needs.
She lived a life of a butterfly, catching the wind in her wings.
